We all have a physical, mental and spiritual need for rest. Jesus cared about each of these. He knew that we all need time to care for ourselves. During this time of year, many people say they are going to take a break from social media. They say they will spend time with family and friends, not only through the holidays but throughout the year as well.
In December, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on those things that make you happy. Take time to focus on the positive things you have going in your life. Play favorite music or sing along with your favorite songs or watch a favorite movie.
Play games that bring out the child in you. Cut up paper Christmas trees and hang them on the tree stand in the back yard or decorate cookies and put them on a plate and leave them out for Santa or for your loved ones coming over later in the week. Take some time to really enjoy yourself so that when people ask how you've been, you can say: I've been good! I've been good!
